13. yüzyıl İngiltere’sinde Robin Hood ve arkadaşları, yaşadıkları köydeki yozlaşmanın karşısına dikilmiş, krala karşı isyana kalkışarak güçler dengesini sonsuza kadar değiştirmişlerdi. Kimilerince hırsız, kimilerince kahraman olarak nitelenen bu mütevazi adam, kendi halkının özgürlük sembolü oldu.
Kral Richard’ın ordusunda Fransızlara karşı hizmet verirken sadece kendi çıkarlarını düşünen Robin, Nottingham’a gittiğinde despot ruhlu şerifin baskısı ve ağır vergilerle inim inim inleyen bir kasabayla karşılaşır. Orada Lady Marion adlı dul bir kadına aşık olur. Ancak Lady Marion’ın, ormanlardan gelen bu adamın hareketleri ve kimliğiyle ilgili bazı kuşkuları vardır. Sevdiği kadının kalbini kazanmak ve kasabayı kurtarmak isteyen Robin, kendi yaşam tarzına uygun insanlardan bir çete kurar. Şerifin adaletsizliğini yok etmek için üst sınıftan işbirlikçileri teker teker avlamaya başlarlar.
Robin ve adamları, hayatlarının en büyük macerasına yelken açarlar. Bu sıradışı kahramanlar ve müttefikleri, ülkeyi kanlı bir iç savaşın içine düşmekten kurtarıp İngiltere’ye bir kez daha zaferle döneceklerdir.
